Preventative

Preventative dentistry focuses on maintaining long-term oral health and preventing dental problems like cavities and gum disease through daily habits (brushing, flossing, healthy diet) and regular professional care (exams, cleanings, X-rays, sealants, fluoride). This proactive approach catches issues early, saves money, and avoids more complex, costly treatments, ensuring a healthier smile throughout life.  Here are examples of preventative services that we offer:

Professional Cleanings: Dental hygienists remove plaque and tartar that brushing misses.

Regular Check-ups: Oral evaluations and X-rays to catch issues early.

Fluoride Treatments:
Strengthens enamel to fight decay.

Dental Sealants: Protective coatings on back teeth to prevent decay.

Oral Hygiene Education: Dentists teach proper brushing and flossing techniques.

Restorative

Restorative dentistry focuses on repairing, restoring, or replacing damaged, decayed, or missing teeth to improve oral health, function, and aesthetics, using procedures like fillings, crowns, bridges, implants, and dentures to bring teeth back to natural form and prevent further dental issues. It addresses cavities, fractures, infections (root canals), and tooth loss, ensuring teeth work correctly, look natural, and maintain proper bite and spacing. Here are examples of restorative dental procedures that we offer:

Fillings: Fix cavities by removing decay and filling the space with materials like composite or amalgam.

Crowns (Caps): Cover and protect a damaged tooth, restoring its shape, size, and strength.

Bridges: Span gaps from missing teeth, using adjacent teeth for support.

Dental Implants: Surgically placed anchors for replacement teeth, rebuilding the tooth root.

Dentures: Removable replacements for multiple missing teeth.

Cosmetic

Cosmetic dentistry is a field of dental care focused on improving the appearance of your teeth, gums, and bite by enhancing their color, shape, size, alignment, and overall symmetry. While primarily aesthetic, many procedures (like veneers, bonding, or implants) also offer restorative benefits, correcting issues like chips, gaps, and discoloration for a brighter, more confident smile. Here are some examples of cosmetic dental procedures that we offer:

Whitening: Brightens stained or discolored teeth.  We offer several methods of teeth whitening include take-home tray systems and Zoom!®

Dental Veneers: Thin shells covering front surfaces for shape/color correction.

Dental Bonding: Uses tooth-colored resin to fix chips or gaps.

Endodontics

Endodontics is the dental specialty focused on the tooth's inner soft tissue (the pulp) and the tissues around the tooth roots, with the main goal of saving natural teeth from extraction. As a dentist, Dr. Duong diagnoses and treats issues like deep decay, infections, or injuries inside the tooth, most commonly performing root canal therapy to remove infected pulp and seal the inside.  Here are examples of endodontic procedures that we offer:

Diagnosis: Identifying the cause of tooth pain, which could be from decay, trauma, or abscesses, often using advanced imaging.

Root Canal Therapy: The most common procedure, involving cleaning out the infected or inflamed pulp, shaping the inside, and filling it with a biocompatible material.

Trauma Treatment: Saving teeth after dental injuries, such as fractures or displacement.

Periodontics

Periodontics is the field of dentistry focused on the gums and supporting structures (like bone) around teeth, dealing with prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of gum disease (periodontal disease), gum recession, and maintaining tissue health, often involving deep cleanings.  Common problems in periodontal health include the following:

Gingivitis: Early, reversible gum inflammation.

Periodontitis: Advanced gum disease causing bone/tissue destruction.

Gum Recession: Gums pulling away from teeth, exposing roots.

Inflammation & Infection: Bacterial buildup below the gumline.

Oral Surgery

Oral surgery is a specialized branch of dentistry involving surgical procedures in or around the mouth, jaw, and face to treat injuries, defects, diseases, or improve function and appearance, ranging from common extractions to complex corrective jaw or reconstructive surgeries. Examples of oral surgery procedures performed at our office includes the following:

Tooth Extraction: Removing damaged, decayed, or problematic teeth, including wisdom teeth.

Bone Grafting: Adding bone to the jaw to support implants or after bone loss.

Cyst/Abscess removal: Draining or removing infected growths or abscesses.

Emergency

Emergency dentistry handles urgent dental problems like severe pain, trauma (knocked-out teeth, broken teeth), infections (abscesses with swelling/fever), uncontrolled bleeding, or lost fillings/crowns that can't wait for a routine appointment, requiring immediate care to prevent further damage, infection spread, or tooth loss, often involving quick assessment, pain relief, and stabilizing the issue.

What it covers
Trauma: Knocked-out (avulsed), displaced, chipped, or fractured teeth from accidents or sports.
Severe Pain: Intense toothaches, abscesses (infections with swelling/fever), or pain from broken restorations.
Infections: Abscesses or infections that can spread to other parts of the body.
Bleeding: Uncontrolled bleeding from the mouth tissues.
Lost Restorations: Lost fillings or crowns that expose sensitive areas or cause trauma.
Orthodontic Issues: Irritation or acute problems with braces.
